Sports Hut Challenge A Huge Success
By Dorset Field & GameA record number 101 competitors flocked down to the club over the 20th and 21st of January for the first shoot of 2024, the Sports Hut Challenge sponsored by Sports Hut.
Cloudy skies and barely a breath of wind graced the fields on Saturday, with the sun well and truly out and about on the Sunday – nearly perfect conditions for the event, even if the pesky flies were out in force!
The wonderful team at Beretta Australia were in attendance, showcasing a variety of firearms whilst also providing free gun servicing, gun fitting and advice. This was extremely popular with wizard gun smith Sergei being put through his paces throughout the weekend.
Also in attendance were Winchester Australia, who also provided several display guns and advice whilst also organising and hosting our off the hip novelty event, with Winchesters own Brian Mortensen taking the win.
Congratulations to Alex Grodski who claimed Top Gun honours for the weekend, with an impressive score of 143 / 150. Hot on his heels were Nicholas Brown, Brian Mortensen and Richard Triffitt with the latter 2 shooters heading to a shoot off for P2 in AA Grade!
